Price is the county seat of Carbon County, Utah. The Price River is a scenic river that flows from the Wasatch Plateau through the Price River Canyon (along US 6), through Price and Wellington along the Northern boundaries of the San Rafael Swell into the Green River.
The town was founded in 1879 by Caleb Baldwin Rhoades. Both the town and river are named after William Price who was a bishop for the LDS Church.
The 2010 census reported that the population has grown to 8,715.
Price is home to Utah State University Eastern and is home to the USU Eastern Prehistoric Museum.
